Gorilla

Did You Know?

Gorillas share about 98% of their DNA with humans, making them one of our closest living relatives. They are highly intelligent and can learn sign language; the famous gorilla Koko learned over 1,000 signs! In the wild, they live in groups led by a dominant male known as a "Silverback," named for the distinctive patch of silver hair that grows on his back when he reaches full maturity (around 12 years old).
